Counseling Services
WYFS provides support and therapy for individuals, families, and couples in a warm, welcoming, judgment-free zone. Our counselors help strengthen family functioning, and support children and families working through life’s challenges, including stress, peer pressure, divorce, emotional and behavioral issues, anxiety, grief, substance abuse, depression, anger management, chronic illness or disabilities, trauma, and life transitions.
Individual, Couple and Family Therapy
WYFS therapists are trained in various disciplines and include independently licensed, preliminarily licensed, and master’s level clinical interns. WYFS clinicians work with individuals, couples, and families to improve the quality of relationships and functioning. WYFS believes that mental health treatment should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their health insurance or ability to pay. Through the generosity of the Town of Westbrook, WYFS is able to offer mental health services to Westbrook residents at low or no-cost. We will also accept referrals from neighboring towns, depending on availability.

Why Do People Come to Therapy?
People go to therapy to address a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting grief, and trauma. Therapy can provide a safe space to help you manage life’s varied challenges and live a more fulfilled life. It can help you understand what you’re feeling, why and how to cope. Just like visiting your doctor for regular wellness exams, or your dentist for checkups, meeting with a therapist can help keep your mental health in order. Indeed, therapy can be beneficial “just because.”
